I cannot tell you how much I love this. To me, quite time reading it one of the most personal was to spend time with someone you love. So for me, this speaks volumes about how much they care for each other. Yes, pun intended.

Finally a portrayal of a young Celestia with a pool blue mane instead of lemonade pink. I would argue that Princess Celestia would have pool blue hair rather than lemon pink when she was younger as most canonical portrayals of her have the pool blue mane. Unfortunately most artists portray young Celestia with a solid pink mane due to the prologue at the beginning of the series.

I would actually say it's turquoise not pool blue but I wholeheartedly agree on the matter of "finally not this pink cotton horror".
Besides Celestia's main mane colours are blue and green with only one pink stripe.

I believe it is much more likely for Celestia to have a pool blue mane because she is Luna's sister--and gene pools have shown to have some common traits with siblings.
For example, my younger brother, while he and I are nothing alike, we both share the same thick, dark brown hair and bulky weight scheme.
So Luna and Celestia would at least HAVE something in common, right? Well, while Luna's mane is a bluish/purple, why can't Celestia's be a pool blue? It shows that they are somewhat related right?
I completely and totally understand why some people don't agree.

On other notes; I love Celestia's mane color in this image much better then her lemon pink color! :iconfluttershysmileplz:

Even though I do like her with this blue color of mane, I fully understand people giving her a pink mane (also it does suit her very well). The prologue images of Celestia and Luna were spot on with Luna's mane being a light blue on a darker body. So why wouldn't it be the same for Celestia? [link]

I am curious where in canon it has portrayed Celestia with a blue mane? I can't seem to find any at the moment... google images are a hazard to the eyes lol

Just injecting this image in. Sorry if I am late for the debate! [link]

That image, taken from the wiki, is from "The Return of Harmony Part 1." Along with the banner in "Hearth's Warming Eve," there are two instances of Princess Celestia in canon being portrayed with a pool blue mane. The only canonical portrayal of Celestia with a pink mane was in the pilot episodes, so that's why I have claimed that "most canonical portrayals" depict her with a pool blue mane.

Forgot to add.

If your gonna take those images seriously, it shows her with a light blue mane, not cyan/turquoise or "pool blue" that people are calling it that is shown in this picture.
